Main Sits Sixth in Heptathlon After Day One at Drake Relays

Aubrey Main was the lone competitor for the Racers at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa, Wednesday, competing in the heptathlon.

Through four events, she sits in sixth place out of 15 competitors with a score of 3014, which is a day one personal best for the senior.

Main began the day with a ninth-place finish in the 100 hurdles with a time of 15.51. She followed that by finishing third in the high jump, clearing 1.69m on her first attempt.

The third event of the day was the shot put, where she finished ninth with a distance of 10.19m. Again, she bounced back and gained ground by placing third in the 200m with a time of 25.35, running with 1.4 m/s of wind less than the two the competitors who finished ahead of her.

Main will wrap up the heptathlon tomorrow with the long jump, javelin, and 800m beginning at 11 a.m.
