Murray State women's tennis will travel to Springfield, Missouri for weekend matches against host Missouri State on Friday, and the Coyotes of South Dakota on Saturday. The Racers will look to build on a 3-1 start to the season – their best start since 2015.

Last Time Out:
The Racers earned a split in last Thursday's doubleheader, falling to Middle Tennessee 5-2 before defeating Cumberland 6-1 at the Kenlake Tennis Center in Hardin, Kentucky. The Racers won the doubles point in both matches, while Claire Chang, Anja Loncarevic, Marit Kreugel, Sara Bjork, and Samantha Muller earned singles victories in the triumph over Cumberland. Kreugel also earned the lone singles point for the Racers in the match against Middle Tennessee.

Entering the Weekend:
At 3-1 overall, the Racers will look to keep their road winning streak alive after opening the season with a pair of victories over Bradley and IUPUI. Marit Kreugel remains unbeaten in 2020, posting a 4-0 singles record at a combination of the #4 and #5 positions, and a 4-0 doubles record at the #2 and #3 slots with partner Sara Bjork. Bjork is also 2-0 in singles matches with a win at both the #5 and #6 position thus far.

All-Time Series:
The Racers will meet Missouri State for the 10^th time in program history on Friday, with the Racers holding a 6-3 record in the all-time series as winners of three of the last four. The most recent meeting came just last season in a match that saw the Racers earn a 6-1 victory at home in the Kenlake Tennis Center.
As for South Dakota, Saturday's neutral-site clash will be the first meeting between the Racers and Coyotes.

Scouting Missouri State:
The Bears enter the weekend with a 1-2 record, earning a win against South Dakota in the season opener before dropping road matches to Creighton and Missouri. 2019 All-MVC selection Ellie Burger has led the way so far, posting a 2-1 record at the #4 singles position. Missouri State was picked to finish fourth in the Missouri Valley in this year's preseason poll after coming off a season that saw them go 11-11 with a 3-2 record in the MVC.

Scouting South Dakota
The Coyotes have had a rough start to 2020, opening the year with four losses coming by way of Iowa State, Drake, Portland State, and Seattle. USD was picked to finish third in this year's Summit League preseason poll after a 2019 season that saw the Coyotes post a 7-12 record that included a 2-3 mark in conference competition. Junior Jana Lazarevic was named to the Summit League's Players to Watch list as the two-time all-conference selection produced a 3-2 record in conference action a season ago.
