The Game
The Murray State women's basketball returns home for the weekend Thursday night to host Tennessee State at the CFSB at 4:30 p.m. on ESPN+, WNBS 97.9 FM and the Zeno radio app.
Scouting The Tigers
After a pair of home losses to SIUE and Eastern Illinois last week, Tennessee State is now 0-11 overall and 0-9 in the OVC. They are currently on a 14-game losing streak, dating back to last season. The last win for TSU came on Feb. 20 of last year at Eastern Kentucky, 67-64.
The Tigers are currently allowing 76.3 points per game, while only scoring 48.4 points themselves, both of which are currently last in the OVC in their respective categories. From the floor, TSU allows opponents to score at a 46.3-percent clip, while only making 31.7-percent of their own field goals attempts.
Despite playing in just six games this season for Tennessee State, Taylor Roberts currently leads the team in scoring with 17.3 points per game, while Andreana Wrister and Jaden Wrightsell follow at 13.8 and 11.1, respectively.
A Win Thursday Would...
A win Thursday would halt a two-game skid by the Racers and get them back to .500 in the month of January at 5-5.
Roaring Twenties
With 21 points Monday at Austin Peay, Macey Turley has now scored 20-plus points in each of her last five games and in six total games this season.
Leaders Of The Pack
As a team and individually, the Racers currently own the top spots in several conference statistical rankings. As a team, MSU currently leads the OVC in free throw attempts (338), free throws made (253), rebounds (570) and scoring offense (70.5 ppg). Individually, Macey Turley leads in free throw percentage (93.9) and minutes played (496:14), while Katelyn Young leads in rebounds (142 and rebounds per game (9.5).
