Wright Jumps Into Fourth on All-Time Top Ten List At Mizzou’s Gans Creek Classic

Senior Dani Wright placed fourth on Murray State’s top-ten all-time performance at the Mizzou’s Gans Creek Classic on Friday
The Murray State women's cross country team competed at the Gans Creek Classic, hosted by Mizzou, on Friday, Oct. 1 in Columbia, Missouri.
Senior Dani Wright jumped onto Murray State's All-Time Top Ten List (6k) with a mark of 22:09.6 to place fourth all time.
Sixteen other schools competed at the meet, including host-Mizzou, Texas A&M, Iowa, Baylor, Kansas and Kansas State.
"We came off of a two week break from racing and today was a great opportunity to run on a larger stage," said distance coach Jordan Johnston.
Wright completed the course in 22:09.6 to take 38th on the individual leaderboard, a time that is fourth-best in Murray State history in the 6k.
Seniors Jessica Stein ran a 23:05.9, while Emma Creviston was finished just behind her, in 23:09.3. Freshmen Hope Ware and Ainsley Smith rounded out the Racers' top five with times of 23:25.2 and 24:17.5.
Murray State returns home to host the Racer Open at the Miller Memorial Golf Course on Friday, Oct. 15.
