The Racers’ women’s golf team travels to Branson, Missouri, to play one of the top courses in the state
The Murray State women's golf team travels to Branson, Missouri to participate in the Ozark National Invitational hosted at the golf course that bears the same name in a 54-hole event that is hosted by Missouri State.
The schedule of play calls for 18 holes from Monday through Wednesday with a 9 a.m. shotgun start the first two days and 8 a.m. for the final round.
Coach Velvet Milkman's lineup features Payton Carter, who won the individual title the last time out at the Chris Banister Classic in Alabama and was named Ohio Valley Conference Golfer of the Week. Her stroke average of 75.2 in currently fifth in the OVC. Other MSU competitors in the 54-hole event include Sarah Forsythe, Alma Garcia, Ana Picchi, Emmie Eriksson and Eliza Mae Kho. Garcia is eighth in the OVC in stroke average (75.8), while Garcia is 11th (76.3) and Kho is 16th (77.6). The Racers have four players ranked in the top-20 of the league.
