Tee Time – Racers Set For Skyhawk Grover Page Classic

The MSU men’s golf team plays Monday and Tuesday at the Jackson Country Club in Jackson, Tenn.
The Murray State men's golf team is part of a field of 16 teams Monday and Tuesday at the Skyhawk Grover Page Classic at Jackson Country Club in Jackson, Tennessee.
The schedule of play in the 54-hole event calls for 36 holes the first day and 18 in the final round. Monday's shotgun start is at 8 a.m. with Tuesday's round at 8:45 a.m.
The Racers are coming off an eighth-place finish at the SIUE event in Madison, Illinois where Connor Coombs and Trey Lewis placed fifth and eighth in a field of 90 players. Coombs and Lewis are joined in the Racer starting lineup by Quinn Eaton, Tyler Powell and Kamaren Cunningham. Carson Holmes will play the event as a solo player.
The Skyhawk Classic had a long run of staging the event at Paris Landing State Park, but moves to Jackson Country Club for the first time in 2021. The Racers have played well in this event annually. MSU has finished in the top-5 in all 12 tries since 2008 with one win in 2012 and has produced runner-up finishes in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2017, 2018. The last time the event was played in 2019, the Racers placed third as the 2020 Skyhawk Classic was cancelled. MSU has two medalist winners in the event with Will Hunt taking home the individual title in 2010 and Austin Knight in 2018.
