Tee Time – Racers Take On RJT Silver Lakes at JSU Chris Banister Classic

The Racers’ women’s golf team plays another one of the outstanding Robert Trent Jones golf courses in Alabama beginning Sunday
The Murray State women's golf team travels to Gadsden, Alabama to participate in the Chris Banister Classic hosted by Jacksonville State. The 54-hole event is played out over three days at one of the courses on the state's Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail.
Play is Sunday through Monday with 18 holes of competition each day.
Coach Velvet Milkman's lineup has Payton Carter, Alma Garcia, Ana Picchi, Emmie Eriksson and Eliza Mae Kho.
Garcia leads the Racers with a scoring average of 75.3 in six rounds, which ranks her fifth in the OVC. Eriksson has a 77.0 average and ranks 13th in the conference. The Racers have been idle since finishing fifth (Sept. 28) at the Austin Peay Intercollegiate. In their other fall event, the Racers took third place at the Missouri State event in Springfield.
The Racers have played well at Silver Lakes with a second place finish the last time they played there in 2019, as former Racer Raeshya Surendran won the medalist title. The Racers won the title in 2017 and 2018. Moa Folke was the medalist in 2017 and Linette Holmslykke has a third place finish in 2018.
