Murray State had a 19-0 run that spanned the end of the first half and the start of the second half
The Murray State Racers met the Bellarmine Knights for the first time Saturday and came away with a 78-59 victory to push their home win streak to three in a row at the CFSB Center in Murray, Ky.
Tevin Brown hit six 3-point baskets and finished the game with 27 points and added six rebounds and three assists. Trae Hannibal scored 12 points off the bench and Justice Hill and KJ Williams each added 10 points to key the Racer attack that hit 52 percent from the field on 28-of-54.
The next challenge for the Racers is Tuesday (Nov. 16) when they take to the road for the first time this season for a game at Illinois State in Normal, Ill.
With the game tied 15-15 nine minutes into the game, the Racers fell behind 26-19 with 4:40 left in the half. The Racers finished the half with a flurry when Hill hit a 3-pointer to give the Racers the lead for good 27-26 with 3:12 on the clock. The Racers ended the half on a 10-0 run to take a 29-26 at the intermission. MSU started the second half on a 16-3 run fueled by back-to-back 3-pointers from Brown for a 44-29 lead with 16:04 remaining. The Racers ended up having a 19-0 run that spanned the end of the first half and the start of the second half.
The Racers held the Knights to 42 percent from the field on 21-of-50. The rebound battle was even at 32-32. MSU forced Bellarmine into 18 turnovers and it produced 26 points.

Racers Selected For Two Home Games On ESPNU
The Murray State men's basketball is hosting a pair of televised home games on ESPNU as announced by the Ohio Valley Conference for the 2021-22 season. The Racers will appear on ESPNU (Feb. 17) when they host the Austin Peay Governors at the CFSB Center in a 6 p.m. tip. The second game happens at home (Feb. 24) against the Belmont Bruins in a tip off of 8 p.m. Both of the TV games for the Racers come on Thursday nights. The OVC schedule has a total of nine total men's basketball televised games (six regular season contests and three OVC Tournament games) to be aired by one of the ESPN networks during the 2021-22 season. This includes three nights of coverage at the OVC Tournament (March 4-5) at the Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana.
Mini-Ticket Plans Available
Fans can purchase season tickets and the Navy & Gold Mini ticket plans at Racer Mania. The mini plans are a great way for Racer Nation to enjoy Murray State games with general admission tickets. Each mini plan is $50 for one general admission ticket to five games. All of the games offered in the ticket plans are doubleheaders except for the stand-alone men's game vs Middle Tennessee (Dec. 4). Call the ticket office at (270) 809-3000 to purchase a ticket plan.

- The Racers made eight 3-pointers, with six from Brown and one each from Carter Collins and Hill.
- Hill and Jordan Skipper-Brown combined to draw 10 fouls from Bellarmine.
- The Racers forced the Knights into 18 turnovers and scored 26 points off of them.
- Having moved into second place all-time at MSU in made 3-point field goals in the opener, Tevin Brown drew closer to Isaiah Canaan's record with a 6-of-11 game tonight. Brown now has 258 as he closes on Canaan's mark of 304 that he made from 2009-13. The Ohio Valley Conference record is also in Brown's reach. Austin Peay's Joe Sibbitt made 319 from 1994-98.
- With the win, the Racers have won their last three home games. The current run started with the final game of last season against UT Martin and continued this season with wins over Cumberland and Bellarmine.
- Today's game with Bellarmine was the first meeting between the Knights and Racers. Bellarmine moved up to NCAA DI in 2020.
- The next home game for the Racers is Nov. 29 when they host Campbellsville.
- The game at Illinois State Tuesday has a 7 p.m. tip at Redbird Arena in Normal, Ill. The game can be seen on ESPN3.
- The Racers lead the all-time series with ISU 5-1 including a 76-65 home win a year ago. MSU has won the last three in the series including the last time they played at ISU, which was a 78-72 win.
