Murray State's Cameron Payne is with the Phoenix Suns trying to become the third Racer to win an NBA Championship
It has been an amazing 2020-21 season for Murray State men's basketball alumni Cameron Payne.
His biggest season in six as a basketball professional has him on the doorstep of becoming just the third MSU Racer to win an NBA championship.

GAME 6 - Tuesday, July 20, 2021
The amazing run of Cameron Payne and the Phoenix Suns ended Tuesday night with a 105-98 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks in game six of the NBA Finals.
The Suns fell short when the Bucks completely erased a 2-0 deficit in the best of seven series and won the last four games and championship 4-2.
Payne played 10 minutes with 10 points scored on 4-of-6 shooting. He had two rebounds.
GAME 5 - Saturday, July 17, 2021
After winning the first two games, the Phoenix Suns have dropped three in a row after the Milwaukee Bucks scored the first road win of the series to take a 3-2 lead on a 123-119 win at the Suns Arena.
Murray State 2020 hall of famer, Cameron Payne, played about 15 minutes in the game and scored six points to go with four rebounds and four assists.
The Suns are in a tough spot going into game six on Tuesday, July 20 back in Milwaukee.

GAME 4 - Wednesday, July 15, 2021
The NBA Finals have seen the home team win all four games as the Milwaukee Bucks evened the series 2-2 with a 109-102 victory at home over the Phoenix Suns.
Murray State hall of famer Cameron Payne played 17 minutes for the Suns where he scored nine points on 4-of-7 from the field (1-of-3) from the 3-point line.
Devin Booker led the Suns with 42 points, while Milwaukee's Khris Middleton led his team with 40 points, including a stretch of 10 straight points in the final two minutes of the game.
Game five of the NBA Finals is set for Saturday, July 17 as the teams return to Phoenix for an 8 p.m. Central Time tip on ABC.

2020 Murray State Hall of Fame selection Cameron Payne and the Phoenix Suns dropped their first game of the 2021 NBA Finals to the Milwaukee Bucks 120-11 in the series first game at Milwaukee's Fiserv Forum. The Sunday victory for the Bucks cut the Suns lead to 2-1 in the best of seven games series.
Payne was on the floor for a series-high 25 minutes and scored seven points on 3-of-10 from the field (0-of-2 3-pointers) with four rebounds and four assists.
It was a bad second quarter that put the Suns down when the Bucks won the segment 35-17 to get a 60-45 lead at halftime.
Game 4 is Wednesday (July 14) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Tip time is set for 8 p.m. central time on ABC.

The Suns got a combined 59 points from Chris Paul (32 points) and Devin Booker (27 points) as they only trailed briefly early in the game. The Suns led 30-26 after the first quarter, 57-49 at halftime and 92-76 after the third quarter. The Suns hit 46 percent from the field (41-of-88) and they were 11-of-34 from the 3-point line for 32 percent.
The Suns have now won the first game in all four of their playoff series this postseason.
