Tee Time – Racers Take On Beautiful Gateway National for SIUE Event

The MSU men’s golf team is entered into the Derek Dolenc Invitational hosted by SIUE at Gateway National Golf Club in Madison, Illinois
The Murray State men's golf team visits another picturesque golf course Monday and Tuesday at Gateway National Golf Links in Madison, Illinois at the SIUE Derek Dolenc Invitational.
The event is played Monday with 36 holes (Sept. 27) with the final 18 holes set for Tuesday (Sept. 28). Each day of play begins at 8:15 a.m. with a shotgun start.
The Racers are joined in the event by host SIUE in a field of 14 teams including Austin Peay, Bradley, Chicago State, Detroit Mercy, Eastern Illinois, Green Bay, Missouri State, Murray State, New Orleans, Omaha, SIUE, South Dakota, UT Martin, Weber State.
The Racers have a starting five that consists of Connor Coombs (Central City, Kentucky), Kamaren Cunningham (Dover, Tennessee), Walker Beck (Newburgh, Indiana), Quinn Eaton (Benton, Ky.) and Carson Holmes (Hopkinsville, Ky.). Tyler Powell (Benton, Ky.) and Trey Lewis (Beaver Dam, Ky.) will compete as individuals.
The Racers' best finish at the SIUE event was fourth place in their first appearance in 2014 on scores of 303-292-292=887. MSU's best individual finish was also from 2014 when Jordan Smith placed fourth on rounds of 75-69-71=215.
