Murray State Plays Host to Redhawks to Open Conference Schedule

The Murray State Women's Soccer team will begin their OVC schedule on Thursday (Sep. 30) at 3 pm against Southeast Missouri at Cutchin Field in Murray, Kentucky. This follows a strong nonconference schedule in which the Racers played opponents from the BIG10, SEC and AAC.

The matchup will be the 27^th matchup all-time between the Racers and Redhawks with Murray State holding the series lead with a record of 13-12-1. Last season Murray State won the regular season matchup 3-1 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and Southeast Missouri took the match 1-0 in the OVC semifinals at Cutchin Field.

Scouting Report
Anne-Clara Couturier leads the Redhawks offense this season with two goals after transferring from NAIA's Southeastern University. Bailey Redden leads the Southeast Missouri defense with 36 saves and over 600 minutes played this season.

What to Watch for
Chloe Barnthouse joined Abby Jones, Symone Cooper, and Lauren Payne at the top of the Racers goalscoring list this season, each with three.

This will be the first matchup between the two sides since the OVC Tournament last season when the Red Hawks ended an impressive Murray State season. Winning the OVC regular season last season, the Racers went 9-1 on the year and reached as high as 20^th on the NCAA RPI rankings.

In the OVC Preseason poll, the Racers were picked to finish second in the conference with the Redhawks picked to finish just behind in third.
