Saturday Showdown - Racers Host Morehead State
The Murray State Racers take on the Morehead State Eagles Saturday in a 4 p.m. tip at the CFSB Center in Murray, Kentucky. The game marks a showdown between the last unbeaten teams in the Ohio Valley Conference.

The Racers (19-2) are a win from their 32nd 20-win season in the 97 seasons of the program. They've won their last nine games since a loss to No. 1 Auburn (Dec. 22) and have won 16 of their last 17 games. At home in the CFSB Center, the Racers are 11-0 this season and have won their last 12.

The Racers' series with Morehead State began in 1934 and with this being the 168th all-time meeting, the series is the longest Murray State has. Murray State and Morehead State are two of the original-founding members of the OVC and have been a member of the league for 74 seasons. Murray State University is set to the join the Missouri Valley Conference July 1.

MSU's 24th Season At The Bank
The CFSB Center is often known as "The Bank", but it's more known for being one of the best places to watch a college basketball game. The Racers enter the game Saturday 298-49 (.858) overall and 126-17 (.881) in OVC games. In the Coach Matt McMahon era. The Racers are 84-15 (.848) at the CFSB Center. The Eagles won here in 2021 for the first time since 2003 and are 3-16 all-time. Morehead's other win at The Bank happened in 2002.

Brown & Williams - Two Greats
Tevin Brown and KJ Williams are going places in MSU's record book that few players have gone before. Brown is one of only three MSU players to score 1,000 points, grab 500 rebounds and give out 350 assists. Williams is on the verge of being the seventh Racer to score 1,000 points and grab 800 rebounds.

Brown Eyes OVC 3-Point Record
Tevin Brown has already set the new record for made 3-point baskets in MSU history (Jan. 17) at Eastern Illinois as he surpassed MSU Hall of Famer Isaiah Canaan who starred for the Racers from 2009-13 with 304. Entering Saturday's game, Brown has 317. He needs only needs three 3-pointers to break the OVC record of 319 currently held by Austin Peay's Joe Sibbitt (1994-98).

The Week Ahead For MSU
The game with Morehead State marks the eighth game in 16 days for the Racers. The second game between the two is at Johnson Arena in Morehead, Ky., on Feb. 12. Next week, the Racers travel to Clarksville, Tenn. for the first Popeyes Battle of the Border game with Austin Peay. The Racers are back at home next Saturday (Feb. 5) to meet the SIUE Cougars.

The worldwide sensation Harlem Globetrotters have announced they will return to Murray State University for an eighth time on February 2, 2022 beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online at ticketmaster.com or by calling 800-745-3000. Racers Selected For Two Home Games On ESPNU
The Murray State men's basketball is hosting a pair of televised home games on ESPNU as announced by the Ohio Valley Conference for the 2021-22 season. The Racers will appear on ESPNU (Feb. 17) when they host the Austin Peay Governors at the CFSB Center in a 6 p.m. tip. The second game happens at home (Feb. 24) against the Belmont Bruins in a tip off of 8 p.m. Both of the TV games for the Racers come on Thursday nights. The OVC schedule has a total of nine total men's basketball televised games (six regular season contests and three OVC Tournament games) to be aired by one of the ESPN networks during the 2021-22 season. This includes three nights of coverage at the OVC Tournament (March 4-5) at the Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana.
