Racers place 33rd overall in final non-conference meet of the season
Murray State women's cross country placed 33rd overall in the Bradley Pink Classic to cap off non-conference season, Friday.Â
Ruth Kimutai leads the Racers in 131th place with a program top-six time of 22:15.8. She placed 193th in the first 2 kilometer and moved up to 167th in the 5 kilometer mark before finishing 131th.
"Ruth moved onto our top ten list for the 6k which is great to see at her age," said cross country coach, Jordan Johnston.
Second for the Racers is Amirr Evans who came back from a meet off. She placed 208th overall and finished the race 23:14.8.
Jocelyn Host is third for the Racers with a time of 23:18.8, Samantha Tucci is fourth for the Racers with a time of 23:35.6 and Allison Wood rounds up the Racer top-five with a time of 23:51.9.
"The group overall had numerous personal records of over 10 seconds," Johnston said. "We have a young group moving into conference weekend so this should allow them to show up with more confidence."
The Racers will now gear up for the Missouri Valley Conference which will be held in Terre Hauge, Ind., Oct. 28.
