Racers Set to Host Alabama A&M for Tuesday Matchup

Murray State Hosts Alabama A&M for a Tuesday Game at 5 pm
Murray State (21-18) baseball is set to host Alabama A&M at 5 pm on Tuesday at Johnny Reagan Field in Murray, Kentucky. The Racers and Bulldogs have met previously this season at Toyota Field in Madison, Ala. where MSU took the win 7-3 on March 30. Murray State is coming off of their best offensive weekend of the season when they scored 56 runs in three games in a series sweep of Eastern Illinois.
Bryson Bloomer and Drew Vogel are each coming off of a week where they posted a slugging percentage over 1.000, Vogel launched four homers on the week while Bloomer blasted five. Jacob Pennington is coming off of a ten-strikeout performance on the mound while also driving four extra-base hits throughout the past week of games. Jake Slunder continues to lead the Racers offense with a .319 batting average on the year while collecting 80 total bases.Â
Ryan Fender is scheduled to start on the hill for MSU in the matchup. The right-hander has struck out 12 in 14.1 innings pitched this season.

Janmikell Bastardo leads the Bulldogs bats this year with.375 batting average to go with three home runs and a .955 OPS. Jason Marono is the appearances leader for the AAMU pitching staff with 15 on the campaign. The sophomore has thrown 24.1 innings to go with a 7.40 ERA while striking out 17.
