Southeast Missouri Defeated Murray State 11-2 on Friday Afternoon

Murray State (15-13) baseball dropped game one of their series with Southeast Missouri 11-2 at Capaha Field in Cape Girardeau on Friday afternoon. The Racers move to 1-6 in OVC play with two more chances against SEMO this weekend.

Jacob Pennington led the way for the Racers offensively with three hits on the day while scoring each of the MSU runs. Pennington is batting .349 on the year across 63 at bats while totaling 32 bases. Cade Sammons pieced together a solid day at the plate collecting two hits of his own against the Redhawks. The Racers collected 10 hits in the contest while also drawing five walks.

Ryan Fender tossed a scoreless relief inning for MSU while striking out two and allowing no hits or runs.

MSU is now 1-6 in OVC play on the year
Jacob Pennington continues to impress on both sides of the game with a .349 batting average and a 2.59 ERA on the year

Game two of the series is scheduled for 2 pm on Saturday with coverage of the contest coming on ESPN+
