MSU can’t close gap in final minutes at Indiana State

The Murray State women's basketball team fell to Indiana State, 62-56, Sunday at the Hulman Center in Terre Haute.

Murray State was down by only two with just over three minutes to play Sunday, but could not close the gap and were outscored 6-2 from that point.
Turnovers proved to be the difference maker in Sunday's contest, as the Racers turned the ball over 20 times and allowed the Sycamores to score 25 points off of those miscues.
Macey Turley became just the third Racer in program history to reach 500 assists Sunday. Her six assists against Indiana State puts her currently at 505 for her career and just eight away from becoming the program's all-time leader in the category
Alexis Burpo also reached a milestone Sunday by becoming the eighth racer in the history of the program to reach 800 career rebounds. With five rebounds against the Sycamores, Burpo now has 803 career rebounds.
Despite the loss, Murray State outrebounded Indiana State by 11 in the game, 45-34. Hannah McKay led the Racers with a career-high 13 boards on the afternoon.
