Racers Notch Second-Straight Conference Win At Illinois State

Hailey Cole and Mary Hardy have goals in consecutive matches in the shutout against the Redbirds.
The Murray State women's soccer team picked up its second win in Valley play, 2-0, on the road at Illinois State at Adelaide Street Field in Normal, Illinois on Sunday.
Hailey Cole scored her fourth goal and third game-winner of the season in the 31st minute on a strike from the middle just outside the box. It was the ninth goal and fifth game-winner of her career.
With just under 10 minutes left to play, Sami Wilson found Mary Hardy in the box for a goal to double the Racers' lead and essentially secure the win. It was Hardy's fifth goal of the season and 10th of her young career as a sophomore, and Wilson's first career assist.
Griselda Revolorio secured her fourth clean sheet of the season, notching four saves on just nine shots faced.
Murray State now has four shutouts in seven conference matches this season and is outscoring opponents 7-2 in the last three matches played.
Hardy led the match with seven shots and four put on goal and Saraya Young took four shots with one on frame. Sydney Etter and Reagan Tate totaled two shots each, with Etter putting both on target and Tate with one in goal.
Seven of the 11 starters for MSU played full time in Sunday's match.
The Racers return to the home pitch at Cutchin Field for Senior Day against Southern Illinois on Sunday, October 15 at 1 p.m.
