Murray State Racers met the Little Rock Trojans at the Jack Stephens Center
The Murray State Racers dropped an 80-66 road defeat to the Little Rock Trojans, Monday at the Jack Stephens Center in Little Rock, Arkansas.

The Racers (3-8, 1-1 MVC) come home Friday for a 5 p.m. game on Towing For Toys – Max's 641 Teddy Bear Toss Day at The Bank and in front of a national audience on the CBS Sports Network.

On a night when the Racers managed only 36 percent shooting from the field, Nick Ellington led the Racers in scoring with 17 points and also tied his career-high with five blocked shots. Rob Perry and Brian Moore, Jr. each tossed in 12 points.

Trailing by 12 points with 2:54 in the first half, Moore scored a pair of baskets and led a Racer run that cut the Trojans lead to six with 36 seconds on the clock when Quincy Anderson drilled a 3-pointer. However, ULAR's hit a three at the first half buzzer for a 40-31 lead.

With 12:49 left in the game, the Racers cut the Little Rock lead seven at 53-46, but the Racers could not get the deficit to under 10 points the rest of the way.

- Nick Ellington had a career-high five blocked shots in the game. He entered the day sixth in The Valley with 1.6 per game.
- Ellington tied the MSU season-high five blocks that he had against Tennessee Tech (11-10-23)
- Ellington scored his sixth game this season in double-digit scoring of 13 points on 7-of-11 from the field
- Alden Applewhite also made his Murray State debut with a score line of: 28:40 minutes played with 9pts, 5reb, 2a and 4stl.
- Applewhite's four steals is a season-high for the Racers.
- The Racers host the SMU Mustangs Friday at the CFSB Center in a 5 p.m. tip on Towing For Toys – Max's 641 Teddy Bear Toss Day.
- After hosting Middle Tennessee (Dec. 30), the Racers (1-1 MVC) get back to league play at the CFSB Center (Jan. 2) when they host the UIC Flames.
