Kiesler Announces 2023 Outdoor Schedule

Track and field announces outdoor schedule featuring two home meets.
Murray State track and field is set to start their outdoor campaign on March 24.

The Racers will host their season opener in the Margaret Simmons Invite presented by The Murray Insurance Agency. The invitational will also be held as the Racers' senior day meet.

"We always enjoy hosting meets and allowing our student-athletes to run home in front of family and friends," said head coach Adam Kiesler.

The season will feature six non-conference meets, including a trip to Ole Miss. MSU will host Austin Peay for the Popeyes Battle of the Border at home, April 14.

"This year we added a trip to Ole Miss which will be top notch competition across the board," said Kiesler. "EKU will be another great trip and a place we haven't run in recent history."

MSU is coming off a runner-up finish in the Missouri Valley Conference Indoor Championships.

" The other great thing about outdoor is that you go from 17 to 21 total events which we hope to be to our benefit when heading to conference championships in May," said Kiesler.

Illinois State will host the Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Championships from May 12-14.
