Tee Time – Racers Compete In First MVC Championship

The Racers travel to Coal Valley, Illinois to take on Oakwood CC
The Murray State men's golf team travels to the Missouri Valley Conference Championship (April 23-25) in Coal Valley, Illinois at Oakwood Country Club.
The event calls for 18 holes of play Sunday through Monday. The Valley team and individual champion will advance to the NCAA Tournament.
Jay Nimmo leads the Racers into their first MVC Championship experience as he was Player of the Week once in 2022-23 season when he won the Hoosier Classic (April 9) on scores of 72-70-69=211. His stroke average of 73.7 is 11th in The Valley.
Last week, MSU's Trey Lewis scored a 10th place finish at the Wright State Invitational on scores of 80-74-73=227. The Racers placed seventh at WSU on scores of 308-310-308=926.
Southern Illinois is the defending MVC champion from 2022 at Paducah (KY) Country Club with a score of 874. Valparaiso was second at 891. Anthony Delisanti of Valpo is the defending champion after scores of 74-72-67=213.
