Murray State fell 11-4 on Friday afternoon to Southern Illinois
Ethan Krizen led the Racers lineup with a two-hit day while scoring two runs. Logan Bland launched his ninth home run of the season on an opposite-field two-run shot to plate Krizen.Â
Gunnar Bingham smacked a pinch hit double in the ninth inning while Brennan McCullough had an RBI triple to round out the extra-base hits for MSU. Dustin Mercer picked up an RBI single to finish the RBI count for the Racers.
Freshman Ethan Lyke had a solid inning of work on the mound for Murray State, allowing just one run while picking up a strikeout.
The regular season finale is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Saturday as the Racers will be playing to secure fifth place in the conference standings to outdo the preseason coaches poll which placed them ninth.Â
