Riggins Named MVC Assistant Coach of the Year

Kelsey Riggins named MVC Outdoor Track and Field Assistant Coach of the Year after coaching three MVC event champions.

Murray State track and field's Kelsey Riggins has been named Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Track and Field Assistant Coach of the Year, as announced by the league today. By winning this award, she has swept both the indoor and outdoor assistant coach of the year awards.

Specializing in jumps and multi events, Riggins coached three MVC Outdoor Track and Field champions, Brooke Misukonis, Jenna Pauly and Meghan Fletcher, totaling 65 out of the 128 points the Racers scored at the Championships, last week.

She also coached two 2023 NCAA Regionals Qualifiers; Fletcher and Rachel Hagans.

Last week, the Racers placed second in their inaugural MVC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, just behind defending champions Illinois State.

Four Racers will compete in the NCAA East Preliminaries as Fletcher (high jump), Hagans (long jump), Faith Bostick (100m Dash) and Kayla Bell (800m run) qualified in their respective events. MSU's first events will be held on Thursday.
