Murray State baseball is set to host Missouri State for a weekend clash of two of the top four teams in the Missouri Valley Conference at Johnny Reagan Field in Murray, Kentucky.

Missouri state enters the contest at 27-16 overall and scorching hot winning eight straight contests coming into the weekend. Spencer Nivens leads the Bears, starting 43 games with a .372 batting average along with 12 home runs and 43 RBIs

Murray State picked up a comeback walk-off win in the midweek over North Alabama. After trailing 7-1, the Racers stormed all the way back with seven unanswered runs across the final five innings to complete the victory. Carson Garner was the hero of the night for the Racers as his walk-off home run capped the comeback in dramatic fashion.
Garner's bat exploded for the Racers throughout the week with a home run in each of Murray State's four games this week, including a walk-off blast in the win over North Alabama on Tuesday. The third baseman had an OPS of 1.807 on the week while leading the Racers to a vital series win over Belmont. Totaling 24 bases for the four-game stretch, Garner accounted for 13 runs with six RBIs and seven runs scored while six of his eight hits on the week were of the extra-base variety. Â Â
The Racers completed a 5-0 shutout win over SEMO on Tuesday for the teams first season sweep of the Redhawks since 2010.Â
