Murray State volleyball will play against Cleveland State, Tennessee State and Western Illinois at the Leatherneck Classic.

Murray State volleyball goes on the road to kick off their 2023 campaign at Western Illinois, Friday. The Racers will open the weekend with a doubleheader against Cleveland State (10 a.m.) and Tennessee State (3 p.m.). To close the weekend, MSU will play Western Illinois, Saturday.
The Opponents
Cleveland State
Cleveland State closed their 2022 season with a 14-17 overall and 10-8 conference record. The Vikings made it to the semifinals of the 2022 Horizon League Championships.
The Vikings return their 2022 leading offense combination, Laken Voss and Karly Klaer. Then freshmen, now sophomores, Voss led Cleveland State in kills (389) while Klaer in assists (871).
Tennessee State
Looking to meet for the 64th time, the Races will face a familiar foe in Tennessee State. The Racers have won their last 11 games against the Tigers.
Tennessee State won the 2022 Ohio Valley Conference Championships but is looking to build a fresh team with the graduation of their main offensive and defensive core.
Western Illinois
The Leathernecks return their 2022 leader in kills (304), Brittany Wulf. This will be the Racers' fourth matchup against the Leathernecks, with the latter leading the series 2-1.
