Murray State volleyball takes win over Western Illinois to place runner-up in the Leatherneck Classic
In A Nutshell
The Murray State volleyball took down Western Illinois to wrap up the Leatherneck Classic, Saturday. MSU was caught off guard in the first set as WIU came out blazing to win 25-17. After regrouping between sets, the Racers floored the pedal and made a 10-point run to start the second set, with Bailey DeMier posting three back-to-back service aces. MSU won the second set 25-16.
After the second set, the Racers left no gaps to win the match 3-1. With the win over Western Illinois, Murray State became the runner-up of the Leatherneck Classic with a 2-1 record. DeMier and Haidi Miliou were named the All-Tournament Team.
Cleveland State won the tournament after going 3-0 in the tournament.
