Racers Host Bears For 2022 MVC Championship Rematch

The Murray State women's soccer team is slated to open Missouri Valley Conference play with Missouri State on the home pitch at Cutchin Field on Sunday, September 17 at 1 p.m.
This will be the eighth time that the two programs face each other, with Missouri State leading the series with a 4-3 record. Sunday's match will also be the first time the two teams match up since the 2022 MVC Championship with the Bears securing the tournament title, 1-0.
The last time the Racers and Bears played on Cutchin Field was during the 2021 season, when Murray State emerged victorious after a 6-1 blowout.
MSU dropped their previous match to SEMO, 2-0, at home. Mary Hardy led the team with four shots, three of which were on target, in 70 minutes. Griselda Revolorio picked up a career-high six saves in the match.

The Bears enter the match with a 5-1-2 record in 2023, coming off a 2-0 loss at Missouri on Sunday. Reilly Heman led the team with three shots and one in frame in 59 minutes off the bench. Jenna Anderson, Carly Raunig and Camielle Day were the only players in the Bears' lineup to play full time.
