Murray State Athletics Receives $650,000 Gift from Anonymous Donor in Hopkinsville

Investment will support capital campaign initiatives and other strategic priorities for the Racers
Murray State Athletics has received a generous investment of $650,000 from an investor out of Hopkinsville, it was announced on Wednesday.

The gift will help the department continue its mission to invest in capital campaign initiatives to enhance the Athletics footprint, furthering the Racers' commitment to the student-athlete experience.
"We are thankful to have this incredible individual from Hopkinsville step up and invest in our vision for excellence," Director of Athletics Nico Yantko said. "This gift is a testament to the unparalleled generosity of Racer Nation, and we cannot thank this proud Racer enough for this contribution."

Murray State has seen unprecedented growth around its facilities, with more than $2.5 million in capital projects currently underway and having recently announced its plans for a massive, eight-figure renovation to the CFSB Center for the first time since the building opened in 1998. Other projects that have been completed over the last two years include: the renovation of the men's basketball locker room and continued updates to the football team spaces and locker room, the weight room renovation in Roy Stewart Stadium, the Baseball/Softball Performance Center, upgrades to football team spaces and the new LED lights in the CFSB Center.

The Racer Club plays a crucial role in helping support student-athlete scholarships, general operating budget, and facility enhancements. Investors play a critical role in funding the student-athlete experience and the competitive success of Murray State Athletics programs and student-athletes.
