Men’s Basketball Locker Room to Undergo Significant Renovation

Project includes enhancements to flooring, lockers and common areas throughout the space
Murray State Athletics is excited to announce a significant renovation to the men's basketball locker room and team spaces, a project that will have a major impact on current and future Racer student-athletes, it was announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Funded through the private support of multiple generous investors, these upgrades will also feature new branding and will be completed prior to the 2024-25 season.
"We are continuing to invest championship resources into our basketball program and enhancing our locker room and team spaces are a big component of that plan," Director of Athletics Nico Yantko said. "These renovations are long overdue and are vital to the continued emphasis of the student-athlete experience around our men's basketball team. We cannot wait for these upgrades to be completed."
One of the most noticeable changes will be to the student-athlete lockers, which will receive a facelift that will include new pads and branding. The flooring throughout the space will be totally redone and will showcase a large Racer logo that will be mirrored by a backlit ceiling logo to fill out the room.
Additionally, the team's bathroom and shower spaces will see renovations.
"Our locker room space is vitally important to our program and these continued improvements keep us in a position to be successful," head coach Steve Prohm said. "We have more enhancements planned for our basketball facilities and that increases the value of the experience for our student-athletes. Thanks to everyone who had a part in making this project happen."
Once the locker room is completed, it will be fully outfitted with more branding in the team room area and other common areas.
The Racer Club plays a crucial role in helping support student-athlete scholarships, general operating budget, and facility enhancements. Investors play a critical role in funding the student-athlete experience and the competitive success of Murray State Athletics programs and student-athletes.
