Game Day Story Lines

Game-3 of the season takes the Racers to a place where they have played many times over the years, Middle Tennessee's Murphy Center for a Saturday afternoon 3 p.m. tip.
The Racers are playing the program's 100th season of collegiate basketball and their 27th in the CFSB Center in the 2024-25 season.
The Racers are coming off their first road experience last a week ago at Pittsburgh which ended up as an 83-68 loss to the Panthers.
The Racers and Blue Raiders meet for the 14th time as a non-conference game since MTSU left the OVC in 2000.
The MSU-MTSU series is the fifth-longest for the Racers in program history with this meeting being their 147th meeting.
MSU's top foe is Tennessee Tech with 184 games, followed by Morehead State (169), Eastern Kentucky (165) and WKU (152).
MSU is 8-5 against the Blue Raiders since 2000 with the Racers winning at home 75-54 a year ago.
The Racers are back at home next week with a pair of teams they meet for the first time.
On Wednesday, the Maryland Eastern Shore Hawks comes to town from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference and next Friday, the Utah Valley Wolverines from the Western Athletic Conference visit the CFSB Center.
After being predicted for eighth and seventh place finishes, the Racers were picked third in the MVC Preseason Poll this preseason and saw seniors Nick Ellington and JaCobi Wood each receive All-MVC honors.
The recently announced renovation of MSU's home, the CFSB Center, will transform the arena that opened under Coach Tevester Anderson in the fall of 1998.
The project is now in the early planning stages.
