Fast Paced Racers Cross Century Mark in First Game of the Year

Murray State women's basketball proved to be too much for SIUE with a 104-60 win.
Murray State women's basketball was dominant in the first matchup of the year winning 104-60 over SIUEÂ on Thursday night at the CFSB Center in Murray, Kentucky. Ava Learn and Katelyn Young paced the Racers with 21 points and 23 points, respectively.Â
Freshman Braxcynn Baker picked up 11 points in her first collegiate game while the sophomore duo of Halli Poock and Haven Ford each reached double digits. Eight different Racers had at least seven points in the game as the squad had 28 assists on 38 made field goals.Â
Murray State forced 27 SIUE turnovers in the game, the most since November 14, 2023 when MSU forced 36 turnovers from Cumberland (Tenn.).Â
