Murray State women’s tennis have individual players ranked for the first time since 2015.
Senior Paola Campigotto and sophomore Varya Alexeyeva were listed as the No. 101-ranked doubles pairing in ITA's Division I women's doubles rankings, which was released December 3.
The duo are the first Racers to be nationally ranked by ITA since 2015, when Nancy Karaky was ranked No. 106 and Andrea Eskauriatza was ranked No. 124.
"It has been great to watch Vivi and Paola playing together as a duo and the way they feed off from each other on the court," head coach Jorge Caetano said. "Very happy for them and also it's a huge milestone for our program as we are trying to become a nationally recognized team."
Campigotto and Alexeyeva went 7-1 as a pairing this fall, with their only loss coming from Indiana University's No. 1 doubles pairing in the Round of 32 at the ITA Regionals.
They went undefeated at the Central Arkansas Invitational, the Stetson Invitational, and the MVC Fall Individual Championships where they secured a Flight 3 doubles title.
