Fischer Hits Walk-Off as Racers Split Day Two in Georgia

Racers softball takes first win of the season over South Dakota and drops game against Georgia.

Murray State softball splits day two at the Red and Black Classic as they take first of the season over South Dakota (2-1) before falling to the hosts, sixth ranked Georgia, Saturday.

The Racers showed resilience to earn their offensive break through.

The Coyotes took an early lead through a home run in the second inning but the Racers responded quick at the bottom of the third when Maddie Hobby scored her first run as a Racer through a South Dakota error.

Lily Fischer shows off her late-game prowess as she hit an RBI single to run Adison Hicks home in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Jenna Veber took her first win of the season. She only allowed two hits through 23 batters faced.

Murray State fell short against the sixth ranked Georgia. Raylee Roby takes the nod to start in the circle, facing 21 batters while only allowing six hits.

The Racers had four runners left on base after posting two hits from Summer Ray and Taylor Jackson.
