The Murray State Women's softball team opens their season at the Red and Black Showcase hosted by the University of Georgia, Friday through Sunday.

Notes

The Racers are going into the new season with several new faces.
Racers Softball features 10 new faces which includes eight freshmen in their 21-player roster.
Senior catcher Taylor Jackson returns for her final year. She was named MVC All-Defensive team last year after posting 371 putouts through the season.
The Racers will also feature the return of senior pitcher Jenna Veber who only allowed 21 walks and a 2.02 ERA last season.
Murray State placed fourth in the regular season of their inaugural campaign at the Missouri Valley Conference last season.
The Racers are picked to place sixth in the MVC preseason polls.

Opponents
Georgia returns Tony Baldwin for his sixth year at the helm.

The Bulldogs ended their 2023 season with a 42-15 overall and 16-7 conference record. The finished second in the regular season just behind Tennessee.

Purdue welcomes a new era with the appointment of Magail Frezzotti.

The Boilmakers closed their 2023 season with a 23-30 overall and 6-17 conference record. They finished 13th in the Big Ten standings in the 2023 season.

Robert Wagner returns for his ninth season at the South Dakota's helm.

The Coyotes ended their 2023 season with a 24-28 overall and 11-9 conference record. They finished fourth in the regular season of Summit League play last season.
