Murray State softball wins 3-1 over Jacksonville State to close weekend at Chattanooga with a win, Sunday.

The Racers ended their weekend in Chattanooga with a 1-4 record with losses to North Alabama, Western Kentucky, Chattanooga and Jacksonville State.

How it Went
The Racers gave up the lead in the second inning where the Gamecocks capitalized two errors to score their run.

MSU had a big fifth inning started by Summer Ray's triple to center field before she was sac bunted home by Kayleigh White. Adison Hicks hit a single to center field before stealing second base. Parker Holcombe hits her first career hit with a single to third base and was scored home by Ava Ozment's two-RBI double to left field.

The Racers held on to their lead to take the win. Jenna Veber only let four hits and an unearned run through 27 batters faced.

What's next?
Murray State will host the second annual Velvet Milkman Classic for their home-opener, Friday through Sunday.
