The Murray State Women's softball hosts the second annual Velvet Milkman Classic for their season home-opener, Friday through Sunday.

The Racers will play five games in the 10-game tournament as they host Western Illinois, Toledo, and IUPUI.

Notes

Racers Softball started the season with a 3-7 record with wins over South Dakota and Jacksonville State.
Sophomore transfer Calista Collins has five hits and four RBIs. She has a .278 batting average and has a .649 OPS.
Lily Fischer leads the Racers with six hits and seven total bases. She has a .22 batting average.
Jenna Veber gets the season rolling as the Racers' ace with .82 ERA through 34.1 innings pitched. She only allowed 30 hits and four earned runs through 139 batters faced while posting 20 strikeouts.
Murray State placed fourth in the regular season of their inaugural campaign at the Missouri Valley Conference last season. They are picked sixth in the preseason polls.
Freshman Raylee Roby has 20 hits against through 78 batters faced.

Opponents

IUPUI
The Lions are coming off a 4-1 weekend Troy. They collected two wins over Samford, a win over UT Martin and Troy on opening weekend.

On offense, the Lions are being led by Haven Kirby who posted a .316 batting average with six hits, six RBIs, two home runs and 16 total bases on opening weekend.

In the circle, Alivia Wilken posted 12 strikeouts, a .36 ERA and a .612 WHIP.

Western Illinois
Alisa Goler returns for her fourth season in the helm for the Leathernecks.

The Leathernecks are are 2-6 to start the season with wins over Ark-Pine Bluff and Northern Iowa. They are coming off a 1-2 weekend at Ark-Pine Bluff.

Western Illinois's Gabriela Drager has a .417 batting average through eight games, eight starts and 24 at bats. She has 10 hits and 14 total bases while having scored five RBIs and a run.

Bella Alvarez leads the Leathernecks' scoring with seven RBIs through eight hits.

Emily Price has made seven appearances with three starts. She has a 2.42 ERA through 26 innings pitched and 108 batters faced. She only allowed 20 hits, nine earned runs and walks while posting 33 strikeouts.

Toledo
Jessica Bracamonte enters her second year leading the Rockets.

The Rockets are 2-1 to start the season. They have wins over USC Upstate and Towson while dropping a game to Loyola Chicago.

Riley Mohr has .429 batting average and a .985 OPS with three games, three starts and seven at bats. Eli Enriquez leads in scoring with three RBIs through four hits.

In the circle, Sophia Knight has a .54 ERA through 13 innings pitched through the start of the season. She only allowed four hits and one earned run through 50 batters faced.
