Racers softball falls to Purdue and Georgia on opening day.

In A Nutshell
Murray State softball drops games to Purdue and Georgia on opening day.

The Racers lost 0-3 to Purdue on the first game of the season before falling to sixth-ranked Georgia (0-11) in five innings.

Vs. Purdue
Senior pitcher Jenna Veber earned the nod and showed her experience in the season-opener by posting five strikeouts and allowing no walks through 19 batters faced.

Raylee Roby came in on the fifth inning to make her Racers debut in the circle. She gave up no hits and no walks through six batters faced.

Despite the airtight defensive performance, the Racers failed to find offense as they only earned one hit through Lily Fischer.

Vs. Georgia
Murray State failed to find offense again as they only posted one hit through Taylor Jackson.

What's next?
The Racers will face South Dakota and Georgia in the second day of the Red and Black Classic, tomorrow.
