Racers Drop Game One To Razorbacks

Drew Vogel hit a leadoff home run on the second pitch of the game.
The Racers fell to the No. 2-ranked Arkansas Razorbacks, 1-5, in Fayetteville, Arkansas on Friday at Baum-Walker Stadium.
Drew Vogel put Murray State's lone run on the board in the first inning with his second homer of the season on the second pitch of the game. The Racers' second hit came in the eighth inning on a pinch-hit double from Dan Tauken to start the frame.
Cade Vernon made the start on the bump, going five innings allowing three runs on five hits and two walks.
After allowing three runs on three hits and a walk in the third, Vernon dealt four scoreless innings with three strikeouts and retired his last 11 batters faced.
Game 2 of the weekend series will start at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 2.
