Riggins Named MVC Assistant Coach Of The Year

Murray State track and field assistant coach Kelsey Riggins was named MVC Assistant Coach of the Year for the second-straight season.

Murray State assistant track and field coach Kelsey Riggins was named the MVC Women's Assistant Coach of the Year for the 2024 indoor season, the conference office announced Monday morning.

"We are very proud of Kelsey and what her student-athletes accomplished during the championships," head coach Adam Kiesler said. "She has a knack of getting her group ready to perform and she did that again for the Indoor Championships. She does a great job of representing our university and team and this award shows that."

Coach Riggins' student-athletes scored 50 out of the teams 113 total points at the Missouri Valley Conference Indoor Championships. She coached Jenna Pauly and Meghan Fletcher, who were champions in the Long Jump and High Jump as well as runner-up finishes in the High Jump and Pentathlon from Brooke Probst and Fletcher.

This is Riggins third MVC Women's Assistant Coach of the Year Title after receiving the award in the indoor and outdoor season in 2023.

Riggins and the Murray State track and field team open up outdoor season with their home meet at the Margaret Simmons Invitational in Murray, Kentucky March 22-23.
