Anderson Named To State Farm Good Neighbor Award

The Murray State senior from men’s basketball is one of 12 honored by the MVC
Murray State men's basketball student-athlete Quincy Anderson was honored by the Missouri Valley Conference with the 2024 State Farm MVC Good Neighbor Award.

Twelve exceptional student-athletes, one from each school in The Valley, were announced by MVC Commissioner Jeff Jackson.

Anderson, who just finished his career with the Racers this month, was honored for high marks in the class room and part in Murray State Athletics' community service efforts.

From Oshkosh, Wisconsin, Anderson has a 3.88 GPA in the Murray State MBA program and he was also a MVC Commissioner's Academic Excellence Award winner (2022-23) and a two-time winner of the MVC Men's Basketball Scholar-Athlete Team (2023 & 2024).

The community service projects Anderson was involved in with his teammates included: Racers Read Program, Soup for the Soul, Murray-Calloway Need Line, Murray- Calloway County Park Clean-up and Max's 641 Towing For Toys.

In order to be eligible for the award, the student-athlete must be in good academic standing, must demonstrate good citizenship through good sportsmanship and significant community service, and must participate in a sport, during the season of recognition. The Valley will recognize 12 student-athletes three times annually (Fall, Winter, Spring), for a total of 36 honorees. Institutions select their State Farm MVC Good Neighbor Award honorees.
