Racers Travel to South Carolina for Slate of Matches

Racers will face three opponents on road trip to The Palmetto State
Murray State women's tennis is heading east to face three different opponents before the Racers begin conference play. MSU will take on Charleston Southern, College of Charleston, and Coastal Carolina this week. This will be the first time in program history that Murray State faces these opponents.
The Racers are coming off a win against Jacksonville State, improving their record to 7-2 for the spring season. MSU swept the Missouri Valley Conference weekly honors, with freshman Valeria Chaikovskaia earning Singles Player of the Week, and seniors Sarah Bureau and Annika Pschorr earning Doubles Team of the Week.
MSU will start the trip facing Charleston Southern. Charleston Southern is coming off a win against Toledo, defeating them 5-2. CSU swept their league's weekly honors, with Noa Boyd earning the Big South's Player of the Week and Brenda Yoris earning Freshman of the Week. The Buccaneers are undefeated at home this season with a 6-4 overall record.
The Racers will then take on the College of Charleston. Charleston is coming off of a week of strong matches, going 3-1 on the week. The Cougars competed in their first CAA conference match, defeating Campbell 5-2. Freshman Oziera Ahmad earned CAA Player of the Week after going 4-0 for the week. Charleston heads into the weekend with a 9-3 overall record.
MSU will finish their road trip facing Coastal Carolina. The Chants are on a four match winning streak. CCU opened the Sun Belt conference play with a 5-2 win over Georgia State, then later that day defeated SCAD in a 7-0 swept win. Coastal Carolina is now 6-4 on the season, and will face Texas State and Louisiana before taking on the Racers on Wednesday.
The Racers will first face Charleston Southern on Saturday at 11:00 am EST at the Gary Clark Banks Sr. Tennis Center. They will then travel to take on the College of Charleston on Monday, March 18 at 1:30 pm EST at Patriots Point. MSU will finish the match week against Coastal Carolina on Wednesday, March 20 at 10:00 am EST at the Stevens Tennis Complex.Â
