Murray State softball falls 1-7 in Nashville.

Murray State softball falls 1-7 to Belmont in their first midweek Missouri Valley Conference matchup of the season, Tuesday.

The Racers are now 2-2 in conference play. They are 25-9 in their overall series against Belmont.

How it went
The Racers pay price of high-scoring fourth inning for the Bruins where they scored five runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.

MSU scored a run at the top of the fifth inning through an error but the Bruins answered with two more runs in the bottom of the inning.

What's next?
Murray State will resume MVC play as they visit Illinois State, Friday through Sunday.
