Racers Split Day One at Missouri State

Murray State softball splits double-header day in Springfield.
In A Nutshell
Murray State softball wins game one (4-3) before dropping the second game (2-8) at Missouri State, Friday.

The Racers are now 4-5 in Missouri Valley Conference play and has a 16-18 overall record.

Game One
The Racers capitalized on an early lead as Lily Fischer scored run after her triple to right field is followed by Parker Holcombe's RBI single.

Murray State scored two more runs in the second inning with Fischer's two RBI single before scoring their fourth run in the third inning through Kayleigh White's RBI double.
Â
The hosts scored a run in the fourth inning and two runs in the fifth inning but the Racers are able to hold on to their lead.

Tayjack Co-CSB Leader
Taylor Jackson ties the program's all-time leader in the caught-stealing-by by posting her 42nd career CSB. She is tied all-time with Ellyn Troup and has made 14 CSBs this season.

Game Two
After a silent first inning, Murray State opened up the scoring through an RBI single by Bailey Broemmer.

The hosts scored three runs in the third inning which the Racers responded with a run scored through White's bunt. The Bears scored two runs in the fourth inning, a run in the fifth inning and a two-run home run in the sixth inning.

Murray State and Missouri State will decide the series in a rubber match game, tomorrow.
