Racers Drop Midweek Game in Martin

Murray State softball falls 3-8 at UT Martin.

Murray State softball drop their first midweek game of the season 3-8 at UT Martin, Wednesday.

The Racers now has a 9-12 record heading into their final non-conference tournament.

How it went
The Racers had a fast start as second batter Maddie Hobby singled to shortstop before stealing second base in the first inning. Taylor Jackson puts the Racers ahead in the first inning with an RBI double to score Hobby home.

Murray State adds a run in the fourth inning as Erin Lackey's double turned to a scored run by Adison Hicks's RBI single.

The Skyhawks responded with an RBI single and a two run home run in the bottom of the fourth inning to take the lead. They scored two more runs in the fifth inning then outscored the Racers 1-3 in sixth inning before clinching it no scored runs in the seventh inning.

White's First Start in the Circle
Kayleigh White made her first start as a pitcher for the Racers. She pitched 3.1 innings while only allowing two hits and one earned run through 13 batters faced. She struck out two batters.

What's next?
Murray State will head to North Alabama for their final non-conference tournament of the season, Friday through Saturday.
