Bostick Named Missouri Valley Track Athlete Of The Week

The senior saw two top-five finishes at the South Florida Invitational.
Murray State sprinter Faith Bostick was named the Missouri Valley Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced Thursday afternoon.
"It was an exciting week for Faith to go back home and run in front of her family," head coach Adam Kiesler said. "But to get this award on top of it makes it that much sweeter."
The Rockledge, Florida native saw two top-five finishes on Saturday at the South Florida Invitational in the 100-meter and was one of the legs in a third-place finish in the 4x100-meter relay.
In the 100-meter Bostick ran a time of 11.47, which was a season best and the fastest time on the team and in the Missouri Valley this outdoor season.
With a time 45.41 in the 4x100-meter relay Bostick helped her team to the fastest 4x100 time in the MVC, the eighth-fastest in the Division I Southeast Region and among the top 100 in the country. Her time in the 100 is top 10 in the Southeast Region and tied for 63rd nationally.
"She puts in the work on a daily basis, so to get recognized for it is awesome," Kiesler added. "She has big goals and I hope this past week was just a step in that direction."
Bostick and the Racers return to competition on April 19-20 for the John McDonnell Invite in Fayetteville, Arkansas and the Red Wolves Open in Jonesboro, Ark.
