Racers to Face Preseason Favorite Drake

Murray State women's tennis will take on preseason favorite, Drake, in a Sunday matchup. This will only be the second meeting all time between Murray State and Drake, with Drake winning the first match.

The Racers are coming off of a strong weekend in the MVC, defeating Missouri State 5-2, and sweeping Northern Iowa 7-0. Graduate Emma Honore clinched both match points at the third and second singles flight. Senior Sarah Bureau earned her 10th singles win this season, facing Northern Iowa's Andrijana Brkic at the first flight. The Racers are the only remaining MVC team that is undefeated in conference play, going 10-5 overall and 3-0 in conference play.

Drake is coming off of a swept win against Northern Iowa in their first home match in over a month. All five of their singles flights won in straight sets, giving the Bulldogs their sixth straight win over UNI. Drake will travel to face Missouri State on the road before heading down to Murray State. The Bulldogs are 6-9 overall and 2-1 in conference play.

The Racers will take on Drake on Sunday at 11 a.m. at the Bennie Purcell Tennis Courts in Murray, Kentucky.
