Anonymous donor steps up to invest in capital campaign initiatives and enhancement of athletic facilities
Murray State Athletics has received a generous $250,000 gift from an anonymous donor out of Paducah, it was announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Â
The newly announced gift will help the department with capital campaign initiatives to enhance the Athletics footprint, continuing the Racers' commitment to facility updates and the overall student-athlete experience.
Â
"We are thankful to have this incredible individual from Paducah step up and invest in our plan to transform our facility profile," Director of Athletics Nico Yantko said. "Continuing to prioritize engagement in Paducah has continued to have a positive impact on investments for Murray State Athletics, so it is important that we continue to build and promote strong relationships in that area of our state. This pledge is a testament to that support, and we cannot thank this proud Racer enough for this gift."
Â
Murray State has seen unprecedented growth around its facilities, having already begun more than nearly $2 million in capital projects, including the newly announced weight room renovation in Roy Stewart Stadium and the renovation of the men's basketball locker room.
Other projects that have been completed over the last 18 months include the Baseball/Softball Performance Center, upgrades to football team spaces and the new LED lights in the CFSB Center.
Â
The Racer Club plays a crucial role in helping support student-athlete scholarships, general operating budget, and facility enhancements. Investors play a critical role in funding the student-athlete experience and the competitive success of Murray State Athletics programs and student-athletes.
