Murray State Softball wins 10-2 over UIC to advance to the quarterfinal round of the MVC Tournament.

In A Nutshell
Murray State softball wins 10-2 over UIC to advance to the quarterfinal round of the Missouri Valley Conference, Wednesday.

The win marks the Racers first MVC tournament win in history. It is also the Racers' biggest win over the Flames.

How it Went
Adison Hicks started the Racers' offense early with a triple down right field in the second at bat of the day. Taylor Jackson follows it up with an RBI single up middle. Jackson steals home on a throw down after advancing to third on an error.

The Flames responded in the bottom of the second inning with an RBI single to left field.

Murray State extends the lead at the top of the fourth inning through Summer Ray's two RBI double to make it 4-1 but UIC cuts the lead with another RBI single to left field.

Calista Collins hit a sacrifice fly RBI at the top of the fifth inning and Erin Lackey hits her own sacrifice fly RBI at the top of the sixth inning.

The Racers clinch the game with four runs at the top of the seventh inning. Hicks scored the Racers' seventh run with an RBI single to right field to score Maddie Hobby from second base. Kayleigh White makes it nine runs with a two RBI single before Lackey hit an RBI double to bring Jackson home and score the Racers' tenth run.

By the Stats
Hicks showed her versatility by posting three runs, two hits, two stolen bases, one walk and one RBI.

In the circle, Jenna Veber earned her 17^th win of the season after posting two strikeouts and only allowing two runs through 25 batters faced. Raylee Roby pitched the final two innings, only allowing one hit through eight batters faced.

What's next?
Murray State will face the MVC Regular Season Champions, Southern Illinois, in the quarterfinal round of the MVC Tournament, tomorrow.
