Melvin, Fletcher Set For NCAA Nationals

Chelby Melvin is making her first nationals appearance as a Racer and Meghan Fletcher is making her second-straight appearance.

Chelby Melvin and Meghan Fletcher are slated to represent Murray State at the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Championships at the prominent Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon on Thursday, June 6 and Saturday, June 8.
Melvin is representing the Racers for the first time at the collegiate championships, and Fletcher is set to make her second consecutive nationals appearance. Murray State is one of four Valley schools to send multiple student-athletes to Oregon and the only program in the MVC to send multiple women.
Melvin opens up the NCAA Championships on Thursday with the 400-meter hurdles prelims at 9:30 p.m. CT on ESPN2. She set a new school record with a time of 56.49 at the East Regional in Lexington, Kentucky and set a new record in five of the six times she has raced in the event.
Fletcher competes in the high jump on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. CT on ESPN. She broke her own school record of 1.79 meters at the East Regional after clearing 1.81 meters on her third attempt before setting the new program record at 1.84 meters on her third attempt at the height.
