Racer Volleyball Drops Friday Contests at Sawyer Camillo Memorial Classic

The Racers will be back in action tomorrow at 2 p.m. CT.
Murray State Volleyball lost to Jackson State 3-1 and UT Arlington 3-0 on Friday at the Sawyer Camillo Memorial Classic at Earl K. Long Gym in Lafayette, Louisiana.
The Racers started the day by dropping their first set to the Tigers of Jackson State 25-21 but rallied to dominate the second set 25-12. However, they were unable to overcome the Tigers in the following sets falling 25-23 in each of the last two.
Ella Vogel was the leader for the Racers as she tallied 26 kills and chipped in nine digs. Bailey DeMier racked up 45 assists and Federica Nuccio led the way with 19 digs. Dahlia Miller added 16 digs along with four service aces.
In their second game of the day the Racers kept it close with UT Arlington in each set but could not take one, losing 26-24, 25-22, and 25-19.
Vogel led the way once again recording 12 kills and 7 digs, with Darci Metzger putting up 9 kills of her own. Dahlia Miller tallied 16 digs and Bailey DeMier had 25 assists.
The Racers are back in action tomorrow, Saturday, August 31, as they take on Louisiana in their final matchup of the Sawyer Camillo Memorial Classic at Earl K. Long Gym in Lafayette, Louisiana.
