The Racers travel to Carbondale, Illinois for its second Missouri Valley Conference road matchup in the last three games to face the Southern Illinois Salukis on Sunday, September 29 at 1 p.m. CT.
Murray State is 3-1 all-time against SIU and has won the previous two matches. The Salukis' lone series win came during the 2022 regular season with a 1-0 shutout over the Racers.
The Racers enter Sunday's match having drawn in their first two conference contests with Evansville and UIC. Senior Morgan Bodker has scored MSU's lone goal in conference play in the 61st minute of Thursday's home match against the Flames.
Dating back to last season, Murray State are unbeaten in their last five MVC contests including postseason play.
SIU enters the match with a 0-0-2 record in conference play and an overall record of 4-2-4 under head coach Graeme Orr. Orr, who is in his 14th season as a head coach and second year at the helm of the SIU women's soccer program, has amassed a career record of 120-92-27 and is 5-13-9 since his arrival to Carbondale.
The Salukis are led offensively by Sophia Schliklin and McKensey Bunch, who have combined for seven of SIU's 12 goals this season. All four of Schliklin's goals came during the first six matches of the year, but the freshman forward has been held to just two shots in the last four matches.
Bunch, a fifth year forward from Georgetown, Kentucky, scored two of her three goals in the season opener at Jackson State. After a six-match drought without a goal, she scored the first goal in a 2-1 victory at home over SIUE on September 12.
